Happy Days ahead: Ubank helps Natalie buy her first home

Back in September 2024, Ubank’s Direct Home Lending Specialist Chris teamed up with first home buyer Natalie from Melbourne as she began her journey toward homeownership—with a spark of hope and a pre-approval in hand.
Natalie was determined to search high and low for the right home. But despite her efforts, the perfect property just didn’t come her way. Eventually, her pre-approval expired. Still, Chris didn’t give up on Natalie’s dream. He renewed the pre-approval, stayed by her side, and continued to support her with unwavering patience and care.

After six months and a short break, Natalie gave it another shot with a fresh application—and so did Chris. Over the course of her 10-month search, he sent her more than 80 detailed property reports, each one tailored to help her make confident, informed decisions.
“I knew how much this meant to Natalie,” says Chris. “My role is to understand what matters most to each customer and guide them through the process with clarity and care. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of such a personal milestone.”
Eventually, Natalie found the right property for her—a beautiful three-bedroom home in a Melbourne suburb.
Natalie says she loved working with Chris because he was friendly, experienced, and explained everything she needed to know—from how borrowing works to how to maximise her savings. He was always responsive, kept her informed, and ensured someone from the Ubank team was available whenever she needed support.
“I love helping people feel confident and supported,” Chris adds. “Buying a home is a big deal, and I want my customers to feel like they’re never doing it alone. That’s the part of my job I enjoy most—being there for them, every step of the way.”

Natalie shares her new place with her rescue dog, Chachi — named after the lovable character from the American sitcom Happy Days. The name is a tribute to the joy and optimism that defined the show, and now reflects the life Natalie has built through years of dedication.
“After seven years of saving, cutting back on travel, watching my spending, and staying focused, I’m finally the proud owner of my new home,” she said.
When asked what she’s most looking forward to, Natalie smiles: “With Chachi by my side, I’m most looking forward to sitting on the deck, sipping a morning coffee, and replaying memories of my travels… all while embracing the happy days to come”.
